A different side of Highland golf.
Boat of Garten is one of the trail’s most atmospheric inland courses. The holes wind through birch, heather and natural undulation, with the Cairngorms as a constant backdrop and the Strathspey Railway and River Spey adding to the sense of place.
Braid was brought in when additional land became available and produced the plan for the 18-hole course that came into play in the early 1930s. The result is compact, strategic Highland heathland golf where shape and position matter far more than brute length.
