Nairn

A championship links on the Moray Firth. A distinctive chapter in the James Braid Highland Golf Trail.

04
The course

A different side of Highland golf.

Nairn is the trail’s championship heavyweight: a historic out-and-back links with the Moray Firth in view and the wind capable of changing the personality of every hole. Fast-running turf, bunkering and coastal angles make it a course that rewards imagination as much as execution.

James Braid visited Nairn on several occasions and helped extend and improve the course, leaving a meaningful mark on a layout that also carries the influence of other major figures in Scottish golf architecture. It is a vivid reminder that great courses are often shaped over generations.
