Brora

Old-school links in its purest form. A distinctive chapter in the James Braid Highland Golf Trail.

07
The course

A different side of Highland golf.

Brora is the trail at its most timeless: open links land beside the sea, firm running ground, natural hazards and a layout that feels inseparable from the surrounding landscape. The experience is simple, elemental and deeply memorable.

Braid visited in the 1920s and produced plans for a redesigned 18-hole course that were largely implemented and remain fundamental to Brora today. The restraint of the design is part of its appeal: natural contours do much of the work, with strategy emerging from the ground itself.
